All Qualified BECE Candidates Will Be Placed in the Various Senior High Schools
1. Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) warmly congratulates all Junior High School graduates on the successful completion of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
2. Management assures all graduates that comprehensive preparations and arrangements have been made to receive all freshers into Senior High/Technical Schools across the country on 18th September, 2026.
3. We wish to indicate that all qualified candidates will be placed in schools. Every effort has been made to ensure that each student has access to senior high/technical education.
4. The report circulating in sections of the media suggesting that about 72,000 students risk not being placed is speculative and does not reflect the reality. We, therefore, urge the public disregard it.
5. There are adequate infrastructure and facilities to accommodate all qualified students.
6. Further, Management assures stakeholders that the ongoing efforts to phase out the double-track system will not in any way hinder students’ access to senior high/technical education. It will rather improve the quality of teaching and learning while maintaining full access for all students.
7. The Ghana Education Service remains committed to equitable, inclusive, and quality education for every Ghanaian child, and calls on all stakeholders to support this shared national objective.
Opening of BECE 2026 Candidates School Selection Portal ?
The School Selection Portal would be opened by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for both BECE 2026 School and Private Candidates to enable them select their schools online for 2026 Placement.
