Teacher Unions Warn Teachers To Use The Approved Channels for Upgrading, Promotions and Further Studies
Teachers located in different parts of the country were given some guidance by Dr. Isaac Owusu, who is the current national president of the Ghana National Association of Teachers.
The president emphasised once more the importance of the teachers fulfilling their responsibilities and adhering to the collective agreement as well as the code of ethics that governs their profession. Infractions of the rules of engagement, such as inappropriate sexual behaviour or chronic absence, are met with his disapproval.
Because the judges consider teachers as the agents of moral up-bring of citizens, he was convinced that the majority of judges who sit on sexual misconduct cases made against teachers will typically go for the Maximum Sentence when the instructor is found guilty.
Dr. Isaac Owusu urged educators to go through the proper procedures while looking for opportunities for higher education, upgrading or promotion, and other matters. He said that when members utilise methods that are not authorised to get their documents through, it makes it harder for the leadership to defend them in the event that they are discovered.
The President admitted that more needs to be done on the part of leadership, and he encouraged members to remain resolute and United as one in order to be able to advocate for a common course of action.
He thanked everyone once more for their support, and specifically acknowledged those who were involved with the Cape Coast Base Radio Station.
