The exhibition of the provisional voters register by the Electoral Commission has begun, and it will continue at all 38,622 polling locations around the country.
The Commission wishes to inform the General Public that in view of the Mop- Up Voter Registration Exercise slated for the 1″ to the 3rd of August 2024, the Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register has been rescheduled to take place from the 20th to the 27th of August 2024.

During the entire duration of the exercise, the exhibition exercise begins at 7am in the morning and continues until 6pm in the evening. Potential voters will be able to verify their facts, such as name, age, sex, and other information, as acquired during the registration exercise. They will also be able to submit requests for revisions or insertions, if necessary, and find out whether or not they were assigned to their respective polling stations. The goal of the exhibition exercise is to provide potential voters this opportunity. They are not permitted to visit the District Offices in order to confirm their information.
How to verify you voter ID cards?
At the exhibition centre, requests could be made to include names that had been omitted, to object to the inclusion of names of voters who were ineligible to vote on the register, to remove the names of voters who had passed away from the register, and to replace Voter ID Cards that were of low quality or had been destroyed.
It is possible to make amendments to other registration facts, such as age and gender, which may have been recorded incorrectly as a consequence of clerical error, he said. District Registration Review Officers, who are District Court Magistrates, have been appointed in all 268 districts to receive the provisional voters registers and other lists and forms containing complaints and objections that were raised by voters during the exhibition exercise from the District Officer.

It is recommended to voters that they bring their voter identification cards with them to the exposition centres in order to verify their details. Additionally, registered voters who did not bring along their Voter ID Cards can also verify their details at these locations.

People are also permitted to verify the voter details of a relative or acquaintance; but, in the absence of the card’s owner, it is not possible to request that any modifications be made to the voter information.
Change of Details of Voter ID
In order to make significant changes or corrections, such as a full name change for a voter or the addition of new names, a change in the polling station code, a change of photographs, or the addition of names that were left off the voter’s registration, the voter is required to go to the District Office of the Commission for a biometric authentication of the voter before the change can be made. This must be done before the change is made.
He stated that in order to maintain the integrity of the process, those who accompanied registered voters who were unable to vote due to a physical disability would be permitted to visit the exhibition centres, as would those who were accredited by the Commission. This would include party members, journalists, and observers.
